Some very happy painters who have FINISHED the first round of painting my house:

Actually, the tough part was stripping all the woodwork...
Six or seven layers of paint in some places.
As they uncovered each layer of paint, from over a hundred years of re-painting, it got progressively tougher to remove...
They came in with the stripper stuff, and that got the first layer or two.
Then came the stinky stripper stuff, and that got the third layer.
Out came the heat gun for the fourth layer.
Next was the hand-held propane cylinders for more heat for that fifth and sixth layer.
Finally, it was a giant gas cylinder from a gas grill and a 6 foot long flame-thrower.
I am not making this up!
Oh, and lots and lots of good old-fashioned elbow grease and sandpaper.
